MCKK named Apple Distinguished School
Kuala Kangsar, Perak — Oct 03, 2022 — The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022–2025 for its creativity and innovation programmes with Apple technology.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration and critical thinking in learning, teaching and the school environment, and have documented results of academic accomplishment.
According to MCKK’s principal, Mr. Shahadan, this recognition proves the success and hard work contributed by all school members including stakeholders such as the MCKK Foundation, MCKK PTA and the MCOBA alumni association. Next, the school’s mission is to continue the excellence and fully explore the vast potential of using this technology to the next level.
The vision for ADS in MCKK is to empower learners to be creators who believe their work matters. Creators, who are critical thinkers, having able to collaborate ideas and producing realistic products that will be meaningful, significant and able to give valuable impact to the real world, are develop through three elements; Creativity, Digital Innovation and Digital Wellness.
The selection of MCKK as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as an innovator and a compelling learning environment that engages students, and provides tangible evidence of academic achievement.
MCKK perceives the importance of producing students who are capable of being creative using a variety of new media to convey messages and ideas to the community. Nurturing students as creators enable opportunities for students to own their learning and demonstrate learning through creativity, collaboration and designs. Student creation activities involve skill in coding, STEM ideation & digital storytelling.
Students are well equipped with iPad and making it the main learning device all the time. The innovative classroom facilities smoothen the learning experience making it to be utilised to the maximum, together with developing educators recognised as Apple Teachers.
Being exposed to the 21st-century learning facilities, students are mastering the technology by fully maximising the Apple ecosystem potential in their learning journey to pursue excellence, not just in academics, sports and leadership but also being equipped with all the necessary values to become meaningful creators and innovators who believe their works matter.
